Welcome!
First Nations Ministries believes in reaching Native Americans for Christ by all means. Our ministry philosophy models that of Jesus Christ himself. We spend a lot of time with our Native brothers and sisters providing for their physical needs as well as their spiritual needs. If you would like to find out how to partner with First Nations Ministries in other ways, click on the How You Can Help page. Christmas is around the corner!
This is our third year with the Helping Hands Christmas Project. The past two years you have been so generous in opening your hearts to the families we work with and we cannot thank you enough. One family last year lost their home and everything they had in a fire on Christmas Eve. The gifts you provided for them were the only ones they got! This is the case for many families so lost in poverty that they cannot provide gifts for their children - something we often take for granted!
We would once again like to provide you with a chance to be blessed by blessing others. Would you prayerfully consider adopting a child, teenager, parent or entire family this Christmas by providing one gift for them to open on Christmas morning? We would like to provide a gift for each person we work with and every one in their immediate family which means around 225 people.
We need items like toys, blankets, CD players, Christian CD's, cologne, bath items. You can even send gift cards to Wal-Mart and we'll purchase the gifts for you! This is a great project for a Sunday School class, youth ministry or ladies group to take on.
If you would like to participate by showing Native Americans some joy this holiday season, please contact us and we'll send you names, ages and gift ideas. We need all gifts and/or gift cards by December 8th in order for us to gift wrap it all in time. Thank you for sending the message to the people of San Carlos that someone cares for them and for being a "helping hand" to First Nations Ministries!
Summer time events
We've had an eventful summer. The Warrior Leadership Summit was awesome! There were over 700 Native people representing 76 different tribes from all over the USA and Canada. God started off strong breaking the hearts of 90 people to make decisions for Christ the first night. Two of our students came to Christ and three others recommitted their lives. Each night was stronger than the last, culminating the last night in teenagers lining up to yell into a microphone "I will obey God. I will be a rescuer. Lord, I want to shake the gates of Hell!"
We have been living on the San Carlos Reservation now since May 25. It is a great experience. We live next to the students we work with and with gas being so expensive, it has helped our wallets. The kids are constantly coming over to hang out whether they are just bored or need to escape home life for a bit. We now have electricity, so that will speed along the opening of the youth center. Living in San Carlos has also brought in new challenges. We have been given new opportunities to witness to more adult alcoholics, drug addicts/dealers and gang members. While we work with some students who do these same things, the adults are a different story. They come by and ask for change, a ride somewhere, prayer or food and water. While we have made it a policy to not give out money, we have been more than willing to give freely the other things they ask for, as well as the Gospel. Pray God guides us in our actions as we deal with this new field of ministry.
